'Snow good when it snows!

After having such a nice day yesterday, here in Minot, it was a little alarming to awaken to a few inches of snow on the ground. Especially after the weather forcast was not forcasting snow. But alas, the snow is here and it makes me wonder how we can overcome this obligatory snowblowing we will have to do during the winter. There may be a solution to the dreaded woes of winter. Recently a customer purchased a new Jeep Rubicon Wrangler and had a small modification added to the Jeep. This is something you wouldn't think about putting on a Jeep Wrangler but it was done. A snow plow.

Our first thoughts of this, were that of disbelief and amazement. But if you think about it, a Jeep Wrangler is like an ATV just a little bigger. It should get plenty of traction on the snow to push the snow around. However after thinking more about this, sudden worries started to creep up on our end. What happens to the warranty on the front suspension? Is this really a good idea for such a small vehicle? In order to further answer these questions we had to do a little research.

Fist things first: the Warranty. In this case or in any case like this, the warranty is not automatically voided just because you put a plow on your vehicle. If the plow starts to cause an issue and can be determined that the plow is the cause then it voids the warranty. Of course this becomes a very gray area so to really answer that question, our service reps here at the dealership would do some testing, a little research, then probably call a Chrysler Rep. to get the absolute call on this.

Second of all: how good does a smaller vehicle like this handle with a snow plow. For that answer we must turn to the company that makes the plow. According to http://www.thehomeplow.com/ it works just as well as larger trucks with commercial grade snow blades. Actually, the majority of the vehicles shown on this website, are smalle SUV types like the Jeep Wrangler and Liberty. If you think about, a Wrangler should handle pretty well for light snow plowing. We really wouldn't suggest purchasing this if you own your own snow removal company. This is really designed for light duty work.

As a matter of fact, we aren't really saying go out and buy this for your SUV or Light Duty truck. All we are doing here is showing you there are accessories to help make your life a little better. Not only is the suspension an issue but the transmission is going to be overworked because of the back and forth you do when plowing.
